Had cocktail shrimp appetizer and bow ties/sausage for entrée (requested a side of marinara sauce for the bow ties which made it 10x better). Really liked both. Sat at the bar. Took a while to get servers attention. (Other than when first arriving) Sat inside because was slightly raining outside. Didn't love the smell of the inside of the restaurant at first, but wasn't too bad and quickly got used to it.
We finally had the pleasure of eating at Gatto's last weekend - and due to the great weather, snagged a table outside. They had great wine selections by the glass and they had two our favorite Pinor Noir/Red Blends. We started with the fried calamari - the dish was huge and we brought half home. It was a bit too "fried" for me, but my husband enjoyed it. For entrees - we got the Veal Pinolli (pine nuts / white wine sauce) and the Shrimp Diavola. Both dishes were delicious and we would recommend to others. We brought half home and the veal was even better the next day - ableit I added a bit more garlic/olive oil. We're glad we finally tried Gatto's and we will be back.
Very good Italian food. My wife had the Alfredo. It was just ok. Probably needed chicken to finish it off. I had the chicken pinoli. It was great. Price was average. Doesn't break the bank. It was our first experience and we will be back.
I just had my daughter's bridal shower at Gattos last Saturday. All I could say is I was just blown away by how helpful and courteous the managers and staff were! They suggested I drop off all of my stuff Friday night to make it easier for me so I had less to drag there Saturday morning. They came in an hour and a half early so I could decorate, and even helped me decorate! The prices were reasonable, and the food and service was fantastic. I will recommend them to everybody I talk to, and already have :-) Laura from Mokena
